Service-Learning, in collaboration with student organizations and campus partners, provides several programs that occur annually. Below are some of the events that we host each year!
Bobcat Break allows students to travel to communities and engage in service -learning during university breaks. These short-term service trips provide an all-inclusive experience for students while providing a learning experience on issues such as culture, environment, homelessness, hunger, literacy, and poverty. This program is sponsored by Student Volunteer Connection and Student Involvement @ LBJSC.

Bobcat Build is an annual community service day that encourages thousands of Texas State students, faculty and staff to complete hundreds of service projects in San Marcos as a way of saying thank you for the community's continued support of the university. Student volunteers tackle outdoor projects such as landscaping, painting houses, playground cleanups, green space trash pickups and washing windows at service agencies, schools, churches and in low-income neighborhoods. The project enables participants to develop meaningful relationships with area residents, community leaders, schools and nonprofit organizations. This program is sponsored by Bobcat Build and Student Involvement @ LBJSC.
